Post-Publication Discussion

Progressive Physics Journal (PPJ) recognizes that scientific discussion continues after an article is published. The journal welcomes constructive, evidence-based discussion of its published articles as a way to clarify findings, correct errors, and advance knowledge in physics and its applications.

How to Participate

Readers may submit a Comment on a PPJ article by email to ppj@fmipa.unmul.ac.id with the subject "Comment on [article title]", or through the online submission system by selecting the Comment and Reply section. A comment should:

•      refer to the article by title, authors, volume, issue, and DOI;

•      be submitted within 12 months of the article's publication (later submissions may be considered if they raise important scientific issues);

•      be concise (no more than 1,500 words and 10 references) and focused on the scientific content — the research question, methods, data, analysis, or conclusions;

•      be supported by evidence, data, or reasoned argument; and

•      include the commenter's full name, affiliation, contact details, and a conflict-of-interest statement. Anonymous comments are not published.

Standards of Discussion

Objective criticism is encouraged. Comments containing personal attacks, offensive or discriminatory language, unsupported accusations, or material unrelated to the article will not be considered. Allegations of misconduct should not be submitted as comments; they should be reported confidentially under the Allegations of Research Misconduct policy.

Editorial Process

1.    The editor assesses each comment for relevance, scientific merit, and tone, and may send it for peer review.

2.    If the comment is accepted for consideration, the authors of the original article are invited to submit a Reply within 30 days.

3.    The comment and the reply are published together in the Comment and Reply section, each with its own DOI and linked to the original article. If the authors do not reply, the comment may be published with a note to that effect.

4.    The editor's decision on publication is final.

Outcomes

Where a discussion reveals an error or a concern about the reliability of an article, the editor will take action under the Correction and Retraction policy. PPJ also monitors discussion of its articles on external platforms (such as PubPeer) and will assess any substantiated concerns raised there.

Authors are encouraged to share their data, code, and supplementary material, where possible, to support transparent post-publication evaluation and reproducibility.
