Types of Manuscript
Progressive Physics Journal (PPJ) publishes original scholarly work in Theoretical Physics, Materials Physics, Medical Physics, Computational Physics and Modelling, Electronics and Instrumentation, Geophysics, Oceanography, and other relevant branches of physics and its applications. Manuscripts may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. The journal accepts the following manuscript types.
a. Original Research Article
A full report of new experimental, theoretical, computational, or field research that makes a clear contribution to physics or its applications. The novelty (state of the art) of the work must be stated in the Introduction. Research articles follow the structure: Title, Authors and Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Theory/Calculation (if applicable), Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment, and References.
b. Review Article
A critical synthesis of recent developments on a topic within the scope of the journal. Reviews must go beyond summarizing the literature: they should compare findings, identify research gaps and open problems, and suggest directions for future research. PPJ accepts:
• Narrative (critical) reviews, which must state the objective, scope, and approach used to select the literature; and
• Systematic reviews (with or without meta-analysis), which must report the research questions, databases searched, search strategy, inclusion and exclusion criteria, selection process, and synthesis method (a PRISMA flow diagram is recommended).
Review articles are normally written by authors who have published research on the topic. The structure is: Title, Authors and Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Review Method (for systematic reviews), Discussion (organized by theme), Conclusion and Outlook, Acknowledgment, and References.
c. Short Communication
A concise report of preliminary but significant results, a new measurement technique, a novel instrument or sensor design, or a new computational approach that merits rapid dissemination. A short format does not lower the requirements for data quality, novelty, or research ethics. Short communications follow the same structure as research articles in condensed form.
d. Comment and Reply
A brief scholarly response to an article previously published in PPJ, discussing its methods, data, or conclusions. The authors of the original article are invited to submit a reply, and both are published together where appropriate. See the Post-Publication Discussion policy for details.

General Requirements
1. Authors must select the correct manuscript type when submitting. The editor may ask authors to change the type if it does not suit the content.
2. All manuscripts must use the PPJ template, the IEEE citation style, and a reference manager (Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote).
3. All manuscripts must be original, not published or under consideration elsewhere, and have a Turnitin similarity index of no more than 20%.
4. Selecting a manuscript type does not guarantee acceptance. Conference papers, theses, and reports may be submitted only if substantially revised and if prior dissemination is disclosed in the cover letter.
