A-250 µL blood of mice was mixed with various volume of propolis extract viz. 210 µL, 250 µL, 280 µL and 320μL extract propolis Trigona laeviceps to examine anticoagulant effect and compare with negative control group (K-) without treatment and positive control group (K+) 250 µL of 10% EDTA concentration. The results of the analysis of blood clotting time showed that propolis extracts had a potential anticoagulant due to it can prevent blood clots. The anticoagulant activity of extract propolis was suggested at volume 210 µL which was characterized by the morphology of blood cells that has shape intact and contact separate from one to the other.
2018-05-04T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2015 Fakultas MIPA Universitas Mulawarman https://jurnal.fmipa.unmul.ac.id/index.php/sainstech/article/view/153 Pengaruh suplementasi ekstrak propolis Trigona sp. Terhadap kelulushidupan ikan patin (Pangasius djambal) 2018-05-04T14:23:22+08:00 Firman M Nur firmanmn19@gmail.com Rudy Agung Nugroho rudysatriana@yahoo.com Syafrizal Fachmy syafrizalfachmy@gmail.com
Pangasius djambal (Patin) is a consummable freshwater fish that native from Indonesia, spreading across Sumatera and Borneo. It is one of the most favored fish among all, commercially valuable, rapidly cultivated, and potential as an export commodity. Patin requires source of energy that comes from feed for growth and survival. Propolis, the resins that collected by honeybees from various plants, is one ingredient that can be mixed with fish feed. It has been widely used as a growth improver agent, hepatoprotector and immunostimulant for fish due to its many biological and pharmacological properties. The objective of this research was to observe the effect of propolis extract supplementation on the survival of Patin. Five levels viz 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 gr/kg of propolis extract supplementation were prepared and tested against basal diet, which was used as a control. Each diet was fed to three replicated groups, containing 10 fish each group of patin (Initial mean weight of 0.93±0 g), at a rate of 3% body weight everyday. The results showed that the number of survival of any groups of Patin was not affected by any various levels of propolis extract supplementation.
2015-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2015 Fakultas MIPA Universitas Mulawarman https://jurnal.fmipa.unmul.ac.id/index.php/sainstech/article/view/154 Uji Efektivitas Ekstrak Cair Daun Ketapang (Terminalia catappa Linn.) sebagai Antibakteri terhadap Ikan Cupang (Betta Sp.) yang Diinfeksi Bakteri Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi 2018-05-04T14:42:21+08:00 Deasy Ladyescha rudysatriana@yahoo.com Rudy Agung Nugroho rudysatriana@yahoo.com Bodhi Dharma b.dharma.bio@gmail.com
Terminalia catappa Linn. known as Indian Almond tree (Ketapang) is a plant that potential as an antibacterial substance and widely used in aquaculture, in particular, the cultivation of ornamental fish. Ornamental fish that was used in this research was Siamese fighting fish (Betta sp.). One of the threats in Siamese fighting fish is a disease infection by bacteria such as Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi. The T. catappa leaf is useful to prevent bacterial infection in Siamese fighting fish culture, because it has efficacy as an antibacterial. The purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness extract of ketapang leaf at concentrations of 500 ppm on the survival (0, 12, 24, 48, 72, 96 hours) of Siamese fighting fish and profile blood (96 hours) after the test challenge by S. Typhi. The 500 ppm of liquid extract of T. catappa leaf was added to treatment group and compare with control. Randomize Designs Groups with three replications per groups was used in this research. First group as controls were divided into 3 controls sub-groupvis. The Siamese fighting fish without injecting (K-), Siamese fighting fish injected physiological saline (placebo) (KP), Siamese fighting fish injected bacteria (K+) and second group as treatments was also divided into 3 treatments sub-groupnamely groups, Siamese fighting fish with 500 ppm extract of ketapang leaf (PI), Siamese fighting fish with 500 ppm extract of ketapang leaf and physiological saline injected (placebo) (PII) and Siamese fighting fish with 500 ppm extract of ketapang leaf and injected bacteria S. Typhi (PIII). The results showed that the addition of 500 ppm extract of ketapang leaf, at the 0 and 96 hours for the control group and treatment group, there were no significance difference (p>0,05), however the survival rate was significantly difference (p<0,05) in K+ (64%) as compared with the level of passing Siamese fighting fish lives on K- (95%), followed by PI (94%), the PII (91%), PIII (91%) and KP (87%). It can be concluded that the effectiveness extract of ketapang leaf at a concentration of 500 ppm was useful to increase the survival rate of Siamese fighting fish post-injection but did not significantly affect blood profile of Siamese fighting fish.
2015-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2015 Fakultas MIPA Universitas Mulawarman https://jurnal.fmipa.unmul.ac.id/index.php/sainstech/article/view/155 Kadar Nilai Hb (Haemoglobin) Pendonor Sebelum dan Sesudah Donor Darah di Unit Donor Darah Palang Merah Indonesia 2018-05-06T10:14:20+08:00 Abdullah Zainuddin abdzaipmi2014@gmail.com Syafrizal Fachmy syafrizalfachmy@gmail.com Sudiastuti Sudiastuti sudrajat.fmipa@gmail.com
This research aims to know the difference in the amount of Hb (Haemoglobin) to the influence of the amount of Hb (Haemoglobin) donors before and after doing blood donation in blood donor unit of PMI. This research is doing of blood transfusion from some people donors to the before pysch test and condition logging. Blood transfusion aimed to support the survival of someone who is exposed to the disease and needs the help of a blood transfusion. HB itself is very important to transport the oxygen and carbon dioxide to throughout the body. The results in this study are: the amount of Hb before and after doing blood donation at the range or the standards of the Hb itself is very influential and experienced a decline of the values it was drastic.
2015-09-30T00:00:00+08:00 Copyright (c) 2015 Fakultas MIPA Universitas Mulawarman
