artificial intelligence policy

1. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools in Manuscript Preparation

Jurnal Eksponensial allows the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as generative AI to assist authors in the preparation of manuscripts. These tools may be used for purposes such as language editing, grammar correction, or improving readability. However, authors must ensure that the AI-generated content is accurate, reliable, and properly verified.

Authors remain fully responsible for the content of their manuscripts, including any part generated or assisted by AI tools.

2. Disclosure of AI Use

If AI tools are used in the preparation of the manuscript, authors must clearly disclose this information in the Acknowledgment or Methods section of the manuscript.

Example disclosure statement:

“The authors used artificial intelligence tools to assist in language editing and improving the clarity of the manuscript. All content was reviewed and verified by the authors.”

Failure to disclose the use of AI tools may be considered a violation of the journal’s publication ethics.

3. AI Tools as Authorship

Artificial Intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors of a manuscript because they cannot take responsibility for the content, consent to publication, or comply with authorship criteria.

Only human contributors who meet the authorship criteria may be listed as authors.

4. Responsibility for Content

Authors are fully responsible for:

  • the accuracy of information generated with the assistance of AI,

  • proper citation of sources,

  • avoiding plagiarism or fabricated references generated by AI tools.

Any ethical issues arising from AI-generated content remain the responsibility of the authors.

5. Use of AI by Editors and Reviewers

Editors and reviewers must not upload or share submitted manuscripts to AI systems that may compromise confidentiality.

Peer review content must remain confidential and must not be used to train or input external AI tools without permission.
